Romania - Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIRI) was founded in 1990, based on a Decisions of the Government, being the first bilateral chamber of commerce and industry from Romania.

CCIRI is a nongovernmental organization, of public utility, autonomous and nonpolitical, whose purpose is to promote relations and economic cooperation between Romania and Israel. Among CCIRI members there are major companies, both Romanian and Israeli such as: ENGLISH COMMERCIAL BANK, BANK LEUMI Romania, SCHNECKER VAN WYK & PEARSON, SIVECO, ALPHA GROUP, UTI GROUP, REGATTA, MAKHTESHIM AGAN ROMANIA.

CCIRI has organized since 1990, several economic missions in Israel with the occasion of some major international exhibitions as: TECHNOLOGY, AGRITECH, MODERN LIVING, SECURITY, etc., focused on important sectors in the economic cooperation such as agriculture, food, electronics, medical equipment, high-tech. There have been organized annually in Bucharest IT&C exhibitions , together with Globus Gate Ltd of Israel and the Israeli Embassy in Bucharest.

Since 1999, CCIRI has organized in cooperation with the Israel Export Institute, annual business forums, both in Bucharest and Tel Aviv, the forum held in 2001 being dedicated to the first 10 years of activity, and the following forums, in fields as construction, tourism, IT, industry, etc.

Through the quality of it's services, The Romania - Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry has managed to attract significant foreign investments in Romania and to assist investors in completing their actions. CCIRI provides it's members, the database for business and investments, including the one for green-fields and, in this way, the investor's attention is being directed towards areas which bring profit and in the same time, help the Romanian economy.

The entry of Romania in the European Union has boosted especially Israeli investments in our country, especially in real estate, services and food production, and CCIRI is ready to support as well in the future the efforts of the Israeli investors in the most diverse areas.

To support the investors, CCIRI will publish soon lists with the major companies that can provide materials and services needed by them. Also, we are ready to provide consulting services through the chamber's member firms in the legal field, customs, banking, etc..
